This week I am busy with all kinds of assignment need to be done by the end of the term,

I need to work on the design project, write my essay for micro-economic. Also my project back in Zhejiang university is about to sum up, I got to contact with my team members on wechat to update the progress.  There in deed I am nostalgic for the days I spent here in SUTD.  There I met so many lovely people who I shall never forget and I hope our friendship will last for long time in life.  I get to know about various cultural difference in this period and many interesting things happen in other countries which really broaden my horizons. Probably I will continue my postgraduate in Singapore due to the high standard of college education and well-developed society of Singapore.

This week is quite terrible for me indeed. The disaster started when I accidentally dropped a fresh egg on my computer key board. Afterwards I fell into the unending procedure of traveling from one repairing stores to another. I also sought help from the professional support on phone, but just can’t find a way to work it out. Together with the great guilty due to the possibility of ruining my computer which was just bought within two years. But I am so lucky to know a friend who is very professional in computer hardware. He helped me opened the computer, check the motherboard and wiped the egg remains on the computer, luckily the egg seemed did not flow on to the motherboard and after cleaning, the computer can work as well as usual. I am so grateful that I can meet someone who is so warm-hearted to help others. I just feel so lucky after this. And this accident really reminds me to be careful with my computer, and keep everything in my room in order.

this week I was preparing for my final essay of the class micro economics, I have never searched for English academic paper on the internet before, and the professor of the class recommend the ‘google scholar’ for us to search for academic references. Indeed I find it’s difficult to focus on the content all in English version. But I think I can learn more in this way. But what bother me is that many articles in the google research do not have free access. The payment required is a bit too high for me. And I wonder how to deal with that problem.

this week my design group is busy with our prototypes, I work late into night to make a prototype graphic drawing, it’s quite tiring but I learn a lot in this process. I strengthen my skill of using software such as Auto cad and photoshop. I realized that we must do practicing on our own to actually get command of certain skill. Only when we do it ourselves can we get command of the software. And I like to do these creative work. also, I speak in front of class to explain my prototype which is a challenging job for me because my oral English is not good enough. but I enjoy the process of speaking bravely which I might not do in other circumstance. And I realize I really need to practice more in order to convey my idea fluently and well-organized. Or maybe I should prepare more carefully before I actually speak.

This week We participate in the Learning Journey organised by Temasek Foundation International. We got up early in the morning and arrive at the venue. The programme include:

Welcome & Introduction of Temasek Foundation International and Temasek Holdings, Group activity facilitated TF Intl, Conversations with Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive of TF Intl, Buffet Lunch, Company visit to ST Aerospace Services Co with (SASCO) Corporate Presentations & Facility Tour. Here I got to know a lot of friends from all over the world who also received the scholarship, they were all very outstanding youth who had good quality and great potential to be a future leader. We exchanged our opinions together and learned a lot in the learning journey.

This week I found a good friend here. It all begins when another exchange student invited me to perform in their video shot and she was also invited, we knew each other because we lived at the same floor in school hostel but barely talked before. We talked for a while waiting at the film studio and we found that we were both fans of ‘Harry Potter’. There are a lot of tricks and fun only fans can get the points of. We were both excited to find someone who can share our fondness of Harry Potter with. And at the time, the new movie ‘fantastic beasts’ which tells the former-age story of Harry Potter sequence was about to show in Singapore. We both wanted to watch the movie. In the following days we often spent time together watching movies on the computer or just talk about our favorite movie characters. Thanks to her company I no longer feel alone in Singapore and life with good friend and happiness is so worth living.

This week i went to the universal studio in sentosa with my friends. It ‘s a fantastic game studio which is Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park, featuring 24 rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones. It was the first time i have been to a universal studio and we have a lot of fun here. We experience cutting-edge rides, shows, and attractions based on many our favourite blockbuster films and television series

While strolling around the park, we can often came cross an exciting live performances or ran into actors dressed as our favorite character and it’s quite good we can get up close and personal to snap a photo for free. But i was too afraid to take the thrill rides which were their most famous games. In a word. Happy days ends too quickly.

This week is the last week we participate in the CIP community service. Yeah TWCC aims to assist youths in development of necessary life skills, and develop capabilities crucial for character development. Kids comes to the Tampines West Community Club after school, they do homework, have fun playing sports such as badminton and floorball together. The club offer them to spend time safely under the guardianship of tutors and mentors (volunteers like us) until their parents come to pick them up after work.  Here we play, talk with the kids and helped them with their homework. Many of them are too shy to talk with us at the beginning, some just do not welcome strangers. But gradually, after we spent several times together, they became much more friendly and open-hearted, they are just cute kids with kind nature. Some are even a little naughty. In a word, I like to spend time with them.

this week I went chinatown with my friend. Chinatown, is one of the famous attractions in Singapore, with its colourful shop-houses and handful of historical attractions, makes a pleasant stroll for visitors like us. The Chinatown MRT Station brought us to the doorstep of Pagoda Street, which is quite convenient . We walked along the street and explored the place, Chinatown offers a lot more than just the restored shops and ethnic places of worship, it’s truly a haven for food lovers. The food street of Chinatown is one of the best places to eat cheap, tasty and authentic local food. There is a wide selection of hawker stalls and shop-house restaurant,encompassing flavours from across Asia. We tasted the local food at the food court inside the Chinatown Ltp. Ordering multiple types of dishes, we shared the food which were all quite delicious. I was still impressed by the grilled devil fish which was a kind of fish I never heard of before.
