We have talked to acoustic professor Prof Jerming on Week 8 Thursday and Week 10 Thursday. We learnt that a mask which have perfect sound dampening property should not be too light-weight and must cover the whole mouth hermetically. That means purely physical sound dampening structure for a mask is bulky and may not be comfortable to wear, so we decided to seek for other better forms with some technology. Given that sound canceling technology has the same principle of our function, we start to think that way.

As the end of this semester coming, students would present their own projects according to the requirements of courses. I am very happy to see all the interesting and innovative products that created by other studnts. At this showcase, ESD freshmores are presenting their projects and shared their learning experiences on how they applied 40.012 Manufacturing and Service Operations and 40.004 Statistics coursesto real-world business needs.

In 18th October, I participated in the YEAH! Program, which demanded us to mentored and played with primary school students in Tampines West Community Club. At first, we are responsible for answering the questions and guiding the pupils to complete their homework. Later came with relaxation time. We could play various sports activities with them. At the beginning, I was a little bit of embarrassed since every child seemed already have one or two volunteers to accompany with. Then I found where I could help with by playing badminton with several little girls. In fact, it brought joy not only for them but also for me.

Singapore National Gallery is a mordern bulding and contains many art works. Some of the artist was famous like Wu Guanzhong and Xu Beihong, some are not famous but they are form all over the world.

This competition happened in last month, when I was taking part in YEAH! Program.

At that day, the children there did’t do there homework, they held a casual badminton match in the badminton court downstairs. I was not good at sport so that I didn’t play myself, but my friend join them happily.

The children there was really energetic and they played badminton very well.
My friends can’t compare them, but it was still enjoyable.

I participated in this workshop on  October 10th.

This workshop was about how to become a good leader. This topic contained a lot of contents, but the this time our focus was on how to control emotions.  At first we listened to the teacher to give a lecture about it, then we work as a team to find some specific methods.

I really learned a lot from this workshop. I hope that I can first be a better person, then a good leader.

I went to the Night Safari on October 26th with my friends.

The Night Safari is the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals, it was famouse even in China. I was really exciting to browse it by myself.  It turns out that Singapore has never let me down.

I saw may strange animals which I had never seen. When I walked the trail in the rain forest, I was almost intoxicated. I think that being able to quietly explore the mysterious wildlife in such a quiet place was indeed a rare experience.

It was a worthwhile trip!

Last week my friend and I came to find a famous restaurant which served delicious Mapo Tofu. It took a lot of effort to find it because that this restaurants was very small in a big mall.

It was a really small restaurant and the food was also cheap. We ordered a Mapo Tofu, a Dan dan noodles and a spicy chicken. The food was different from I used to ate in China, but also delicious.

In Singapore we always could eat food from all over the word. I hope that next time I can also find good food!

I participate in this event on September 12th.

This event was about to making friends with other students in TF LEaRN program. Many students from all over the Asia participated in the same program, which was really a fate. Is there any reason we don’t know each other and become friends?

To made us more familiar with each other, we were led to a big room and played many games as a team. It was really fun, and I truely made many friends. At last we painted T shirts together and signed for each other. I would treasure it forever!
