the first week we came to this city, everything is new, surprising for me.
Some sutd students help us a lot in beginning with the life here, they company us to buy staffs in the supermarket, taste delicious local food and go traveling to Singapore famous attractions, we have built friendship with each other regardless of our difference of nation . I also want to thank the teachers of international relationship office for they run out of way to assist us to solve problems and overcome difficulties we met. It’s not easy to start living alone in a foreign country as there are a lot of things to settle at our arrival, but with the generous and timely support of sutd students and teacher, things are much easier for us. I really like the Singapore way of encouraging students to build connection with each other, teachers organized activities where we were required to communicate and get to know about the other strange students in a delightful atmosphere. In this way, it naturally reduced loneliness and stress we faced upon arrival. everything went fine and I started to adapt to the life here.
Studying in SUTD is an amazing experience for me. The curriculum in SUTD is very different from my home university. Typically, every lesson in SUTD has both lectures and workshop which means students not only have to listen to professors but also need to work on hand. And the school emphasis greatly on group working. Every lesson we have a learning group where we work and study together. For my major, architecture design, the school emphasis on technological study, which means students have to learn many software served for architecture design. Also, the leaning load in SUTD is a little bit heavier than my home university, and schoolmates pushed them really hard which deeply influenced my self. We can easily have access to comprehensive learning materials through the school library website. And the school has IT-care where we can fix any technical problems with our computers.
