During the recess week I went to Batam. Batam is near Singapore and it only took us two hours by ferry to arrive this beautiful island.
On our way to Batam, we really admired the beauty of sea in the sunset. The sea looks boundless, with numerous ferries on it. The color of sunset was changing little by little at every second. But every time I pressed the shutter, the photo was as beautiful as a painting.

I think learning from nature is also a very important lesson in our life. When I first arrived here in Singapore, I met Prof. Mohan, who also taught me “Introduction to Design” in ZJU. He smiled and told me that I should make full use of time here to explore. “To explore is very important!” I understand what he means. One thing very interesting is that when I try to find a translation for “explore” in Chinese, I find that there is no such proper word. You may argue that “探索” in Chinese is the same meaning as “explore”, but I don’t think so. Exploring is less serious and a more leisurely word. Without so many ambitions, without so many goals and tasks in head. “Just explore, just enjoy the process”, everything is interesting, I think this is a kind of culture.
Okay, actually I was about to share you something about Batam, but a bit off the theme now. Let’s go back to the topic.
We arrived at Batam and the next day we went to Montigo Resort.

It was so relaxing! We chatted about many things, about life, about love, about future plan, and so on. I was used to making specific plans for my trip, and I sticked to detailed guideline, but now I have to admit that sometimes traveling doesn’t mean that you have to watch a lot of fresh things, but means to experience the local life. Just explore, it can also be unforgettable.
