The experience shared by the teachers of the Entrepreneurship class and the guests who brought the guest lectures helped me a lot. They let me know that facing problems must not only be brave to face, but also must be prepared to face. The knowledge we are learning now, the friends we make now, will become our resources in the future.

I took a history course. The teacher of this course is very responsible, and he let me know history from a new perspective. Different from the situation of a large class in Zhejiang University, the teaching of small class has helped me a lot in my study. I am very pleased that the teacher is able to help each student to better understand the content of the class as much as possible.

The learning journey day has been a great opportunity to meet with people from different countries and cultures. I sat with people from Indian, England, Vietnam, Singapore and discussed pollution and unemployment problems with them. I saw leadership in them when I saw them talking confidently and sharing their insights fearlessly. It was interesting to communicate with them.

In the afternoon we visited the ST Aerospace Services Co with (SASCO) and actually saw how they operate the system.

Visiting the museums is a good way to be inspired. We heard about there are several excellent exhibitions in singapore now, so we decided to visit them during this weekend.

Red dot award is a famous and prestigous award in the area of our major. We chose to visit the red dot museum in the morning. It takes us 20 minutes to walk around the museum, learning about all the winner-ideas. Some ideas are tiny but useful to provide convenience for people. That’s really inspired me and made me reflected on some products I designed before. Functions and beauty are both essential for a good product.

What’s more, we came to a exhibition name “ Future World” designed by teamlab. The exhibition is formed with interesting interaction installations. Not only children but also adults are interested with it. By touching the wall, we can feel the change of the light and patterns. The beauty of it really shocked us.

Designing products which are combined with art and technology is truly an exciting thing for designers. We hope we can also make it come true one day!

Reddot museum is an iconic place for Singapore. Especially, it has a close relationship with our major. So this weekend, I come to visit it with my classmates.
The red dot museum is far away from our school. It takes nearly one hour for us to get there. At the entrance to the museum, there are lots of souvenirs being sold. With tickets, we come into the museum. Each year’s awards are exhibited in the form of posters or products. The design thinking of these awards is so amazing and inspiring.
I hope I can create such great works one day!

Singaporean schoolmates recommend that the Pulau Ubin is an island that local people always go to spend their weekends barbecuing, cycling, camping there. Therefore, my friends and I decided to go to the island to have our weekend too.
We rent bikes and started our journey explore the island. In the beginning, we all expected to see the sandy beach and thought there must be one on the east coast of the island. While when we finally got there tired and exhausted, it turned out that the coast is full of rocks. However, the tree trials were beautiful which comforted us a lot.
The island is one of the last rural areas to be found in Singapore. There are abundant natural flora and fauna. We also see a lizard walking in front of us very slowly.

Tonight me and my friends went to the east coast to enjoy the food there and the beauty of the night.

Seafood, Fujian dish and coconut juice are really popular there.

People were jogging, walking or even camping there. We walked for 2 hours after having delicious supper. The sky after sunset had a subtly changing hue, which was quite relaxing.

We were quite happy that we not only experienced the busy study life on campus, but also had witness the peaceful life at weekend in Singapore. It really enriched what I though about this small but interesting country.

We took a photo together to memorize the unforgettable night by the sea.

This week I went to the Pulau Ubin.
Pulau Ubin is an island northeast of the mainland Singapore. It takes us to the nature and enjoy the outdoor. We went cycling in the island, seeing the beautiful views of the sea and various kinds of plants and also wild animals like the pigs.
In the trip, one of my friends fall over from her bike and get injured. Also, it went rainy when in the process.
Luckily, we came over a group of people also do cycling in the island, they gave us some band-aid, medicine and also share us the food they brought. How nice they are!
But in the meantime it made me also think about the insufficient prepare work we had before taking this trip.

We went to Tampines West Community Center one day a week during September. The main job we need to do is mentoring the children in their homework, and playing with them. The first day in the center is quite hard for me because we are unfamiliar with each other and the children tend to seek help to familiar mentors. The most efficient way to involve into the kids is to play sports with them. The first afternoon, I went out to play soccer with the boys and girls and have small talks with some of them.

During the last two days in the community center, I tried my best to ask initiative if they need any help. At the end of every weekday, the teacher would praise some children and reward them a star. And the stars are in different categories, some regards being helpful, some regards attendance and some regards good grades. The most interesting part is that whether the teacher, the mentor or the children all have the chance to give rewards as long as you think she or he deserves it.

There is no doubt that the children there are appreciative and willing to give their admiration. I really appreciate the encourages children to seek out the good in others instead of complaining about others.

on the last day of the program, the children said goodbye to us, but they never know we wouldn’t come back again.

On October 9, we participate TF Intl Learning Journey. During the learning journey, all scholarship holders from Singapore’s top four schools meet together. On the meeting, we get a general knowledge about TFI and know their aim to build TFI scholarship foundation.

The most important is, during the meeting, I make a lot of new friends. They are from different schools and countries. It also a great thing to meet other fellow-townsmen in NUS. We left contact information with each other, I think we will have further communication together in the future.

On the night of September 1, 2018, I set out from Xiaoshan, Hangzhou. The next morning, we arrived in Singapore. SUTD’s teacher warmly welcomed us at the airport. A few hours later, SUTD took us to buy and handle many basic projects and gave us some Suggestions. Everything in Singapore was new to me and I started my exchange life.
